Natural Products Brokers

The existence of man in the planet would have been impossible. It would have been an uninhabitable planet if there were no natural products. The trees, the plants, the water, and the soil are all natural products that have helped man develop the standard of living and aid survival for him. Deposits of these natural products are scattered around the planet in their crude form. It has taken the intellectual productivity of man to refine them and make them usable for the development of the planet. Man now uses jet engines, wear clothes with never-ending reel of fashion styles, build submarines, and man is looking at conquering space and colonizing other planets.

However, all these are developed from the natural products but these are scattered across the planet. For instance, to produce planes, the plane company has to import these raw materials from abroad. Much of the steal is sourced from Brazil and Canada. Some other materials are sourced from Africa. It takes some players in the supply chain to get the raw materials to the manufacturers who have a plan for their use. These people are natural products brokers.

Brokers are basically agents. Some people call them commercial agents. What they do is to enter into contract as agents for the supply of certain materials and they get it from the source to where it is needed. A plane manufacturer would have to rely in these brokers to get the raw material needed for the production of planes.

Since the invention of cars and the shift from steam engines to the use of fuels, the oil industry has been drilling billions of dollars in oil on a daily basis. However, the oil drilled is still in its crude form and it needs to be sold to refineries for distillation and refinement. This is where the brokers enter the scene. They help look for refineries for countries with crude oil to sell for a commission. Brokers in this line are well established companies with the name and international reputation. With brokers in place, they can also work in getting refined petroleum to buyers. For instance, plane companies need tons of paraffin to fuel the engines. Brokers can also cut deals and act as middlemen in this line.

The same goes for cotton. The clothing industry is a multibillion dollar industry with new fabric and clothes being produced daily. However, this cannot be produced without the cotton, silk, wool, and other materials gotten from nature. Nature has given man all he needs to be clothed and the fashion industry has made this a reality. The middlemen who frequent the ginneries, the woolgrower, the silk farms, etc. are brokers. They work to supply the fashion designers who have to think about new styles, product promotions, markets, and a host of other things related to the industry.

Talk about wood for furniture companies, and other things nature has benefited humanity with, brokers are the professionals connecting the natural products with the developers.
