JackThreads
JackThread is an online fashion store that sells men clothing and accessories. It was founded in 2008 in Columbus, OH as a flash sale site for the street wear community. Since then, the brand has evolved into a men’s style destination providing a curated portfolio of brand and bringing style, quality and value under one digital roof. On October 1, 2015, the brand launched its first namesake collection to complement its family of brands. The line is comprised of the essential pieces every guy might need – designed around the core idea that daily style should be simple.
The traditional retail experience is fast leaving the scene. Going are the days where the customer would have to go to the retail outlet to get needs, wants and necessities. Nowadays, the marketplace is online. Retailers and customers are meeting online to have transactions carried out. With the growth of online marketplace like Amazon, Ali Baba, JackThreads it can only get better for online retailing. The ease given by the platform is easily leveraged on by those who want to engage in buying and selling.
This platform is what the online clothing store JackThread leverages on. JackThread is an online clothing store that deals majorly in men’s clothing. People place their orders online and pay a token for shipping and they receive their orders within a few days. This is by having the pictures of the clothes on their website – either worn by models, packaged or placed on hangers – allowing people to make their choices by clicking on articles of clothes they are interested in. of course, people have to own an account on the platform to make orders – this is to register shipping address, get an assigned cart, make purchases easily.
What the platform leverages on is the ease they give to customers. The stress of going to boutique to check out clothes is removed as one may be at work and still buy several kinds of clothing. The trend set by JackThread and others in retailing is moving in great strides. People can keep up with their schedules and several other things by going online to purchase and pay for goods and services.
However, JackThread has been having problems keeping up with customer expectations. The internet is not without its shortcomings. For instance, a shirt may be on display for sale on an online store but the shirt may be shorter than what the customer expected. It may be that the size might have even been stated in the description but the accuracy of that size gauge may be questionable. Another twist that could occur is that the size 30 of a designer in France may be the size 20 of an American designer. Issues like these are thrown at the doorstep of online retailers like JackThread.
Another issue the online retailer has is the poor customer service. Several customers have complained that they have been replied by answering machines and haven’t gotten real replies to their complaints, requests or questions.
