About the Food Industry Association Executives

The Food Industry Association Executives is a national professional association that represents food executives at local, state, and regional levels. It is a Utah non-profit corporation. The association was created in 1927, mainly to provide an avenue for their members’ employees to grow, and also to serve as an avenue for people in the food industry to exchange ideas and take the food industry forward.

The FIAE is composed of numerous trade associations that represent the food distribution industry from the local to the international level. The association looks to facilitate the development of these trade associations as well as the food distribution industry as a whole by providing training opportunities for the staff of the member’s associations. FIAE provides a platform where these members can share their opinions on some issues of concern.

FIAE also aims to strengthen the professionalism of the management of member associations. They work towards improving all parts of the association from the top of the hierarchy to the bottom.

Membership

The FIAE consists of members who fall into one of three categories. These categories include active members, a position that is limited to local, state, regional, national, and international trade associations in the food industry. There are also the affiliate members who are food producers, suppliers, service companies, food educators, or others who have relationships with the active members. Lastly, the Board of Directors selects honorary members, who are former representatives of active and affiliate members.

The FIAE is controlled and managed by a Board of Directors, which is headed by the Chairwoman, Mrs. Jan Gee, who is assisted by the Vice-Chairman, Rob Ikard.

The FIAE, through its member associations, represents over 95 percent of the grocery retail industry. The members of the FIAE enjoy a lot of benefits as a result of their membership. The FIAE acts as a liaison between them and other food industry associations, thereby connecting them and creating a more united food industry. They also help in government affairs and act as a watchdog over all issues about the food industry.

Benefits

The FIAE offers a scholarship program that is created to assist and encourage the growth and development of member association executives. It is a grant that is created to invigorate creative thinking and develop the knowledge about association management of its members.

Applications could be made by any association executive who works for an active member of the FIAE through their website. The Food Industry Association Executives host a convention for all its members, which takes place every year at a date decided by the board of directors. The FIAE is currently sponsored by organizations such as the National Grocers Association, Coca-Cola, Pepsi Co., And others.

The association is based in Sunset Beach in the United States of America. Their mission is, “to be a forum for the professional growth of the members’ employees and to serve as a vehicle for the interchange of ideas and advancement of the food industry agenda.”
