The Kroger Company is one of the world’s largest grocery retailers, with fiscal 2013 sales of $98.4 billion.
The Kroger Co. Family of Stores spans many states with store formats that include grocery and multi-department stores, discount, convenience stores and jewelry stores. We operate under nearly two dozen banners, all of which share the same belief in building strong local ties and brand loyalty with our customers.
Kroger may be the nation’s largest traditional grocer. While Kroger has diversified through acquisitions, adding jewelry and general merchandise to its mix, supermarkets still account for more than 90% of sales. The company operates about 3,575 stores, including some 2,640 supermarkets and multi-department stores, under two dozen banners, in about 35 states. It also runs more than 780 convenience stores under names such as Quik Stop and Kwik Shop. Kroger’s Fred Meyer Stores subsidiary operates about 130 super-centers, which offer groceries, general merchandise, and jewelry, in the western US.
