The thrift liquidators use small trucks or covered trailers attached to trucks to transport the product. They stack the product on trays and do not use dollies. Suggested vehicle space parameters are listed below. Based on average sales, the liquidator would need enough room for about 7 trays per stop. (1 display piece will also accommodate up to this amount)

Operating Procedures for Thrift Bakery Liquidators:
1. Liquidator will identify value retailer(s). Dollar stores and discount grocers may be considered.
2. Liquidator will submit location(s) to Mr. Checkout Distributors, Inc. for approval.
3. Liquidator will stop at regional depots between depot operating hours to pick up product. Typical operating hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays between 5am and 7am.
4. The market returns will be stacked near the truck dock. Variety will vary each day. The liquidator will sort these bakery products and pull from it what he/she wishes to liquidate in the value channel.
5. The liquidator will stack the bread to be purchased.
6. The liquidator and depot manager will take a count of all units, dollies, and trays, and record on the thrift log form maintained in the depot.
7. The liquidator and depot manager will sign the log to confirm the transfer.
8. The liquidator will load his/her truck and depart.
9. Upon arrival to the customer, the product will be checked in and merchandised per agreement between liquidator and customer. Display units are available from Pepperidge Farm upon request.
10. Product may not be sold past the sell by date on the twist lock and must be pulled by the liquidator as to eliminate past-dated product for sale on the shelf.

Requirements to be a Thrift Bakery Liquidator:
1. Enclosed truck or trailer with the ability to house enough product to support customer base. (E-tracking or tension bars should be used to secure multiple bread trays stacks).
a. Stackable bread trays sit on rolling dollies and measure 28’”L x 23” W x 5.5”H. All trays and dollies are the property of Pepperidge Farm and must be returned undamaged.
b. Each tray can hold as average of 12 units
c. An average of existing value retail accounts is 7 trays/store or 80 units. If stacked on one dolly, truck space required is 28’”L x 23” W x 46”H per account.
d. Trays may be stacked higher or lower in the truck or floor-loaded to maximize available truck space.
2. Ability to service at the same time of day, 2 days and 5 days per week during normal business hours.
3. Pepperidge Farm will require a Thrift Distribution Agreement as a condition to participation.
Liquidators of Pepperidge Farm branded reclaimed bakery products are not a “franchise” under federal or state laws. Mr. Checkout and Pepperidge Farm disclaim either is a “franchisor”, that such activity is a “franchise”, or that any “franchise fees” are imposed.
